Visit Side in Turkey, A Beach Lover’s Paradise

2 Mins read

August in Side, Turkey, was amazing The ancient ruins, the pristine beaches, and the vibrant atmosphere combined to create an unforgettable experience. As a visitor, I was immediately captivated by the town’s charm and the warm hospitality of its people.

A Beach Lover’s Paradise

Side is renowned for its stunning beaches, and I wasn’t disappointed. The main beach, East Beach, is a long stretch of golden sand with crystal-clear waters. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply enjoying the breathtaking views. I spent countless hours lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun and listening to the gentle lapping of the waves.

Another popular beach is West Beach, which offers a more secluded and tranquil setting. The beach is surrounded by pine trees, providing shade and a natural barrier from the wind. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Exploring Ancient Side

One of the highlights of my trip to Side was exploring the ancient city. The ruins of Side are remarkably well-preserved, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history. The most impressive structure is the Roman Amphitheater, which could once accommodate thousands of spectators. I had the opportunity to attend a live performance there, which was a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Other notable landmarks include the Temple of Apollo, the agora (marketplace), and the ancient harbor. A guided tour is highly recommended to fully appreciate the significance of these historical sites. Our knowledgeable guide brought the history of Side to life, sharing fascinating stories about the people who once lived there.

A Boat Trip to Cleopatra’s Beach

No trip to Side would be complete without a boat trip to Cleopatra’s Beach. This secluded beach is located on a small peninsula and is only accessible by boat. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters and the stunning views of the surrounding coastline.

Our boat trip included a stop at the Pirates Cave, a hidden grotto with crystal-clear water and a waterfall. It was a fun and adventurous experience that I’ll never forget.

A Vibrant Town

Beyond the beaches and historical sites, Side is a vibrant town with a bustling atmosphere. The old town, with its narrow streets, colorful shops, and traditional Turkish bazaars, is a delight to explore. I spent hours wandering through the markets, bargaining for souvenirs and immersing myself in the local culture.

Side also offers a variety of nightlife options, from lively bars and clubs to more relaxed rooftop terraces. There’s something to suit every taste, and it’s a great way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

A Summer to Remember

My visit to Side in August was an unforgettable experience. The combination of stunning beaches, historical sites, and a vibrant culture made it the perfect destination for a summer getaway. Whether you’re a history buff, a beach lover, or simply seeking a relaxing vacation, Side has something to offer everyone. I can’t wait to return and explore more of this beautiful country.
